Dear Backers,
I hope this message finds you all in good health and high spirits.
As some of you know, my work was unfortunately delayed due to a bike accident I experienced at the end of August. I was extremely lucky, as I fell just a meter away from a bus and it could have been much worse. It was nighttime, and my front wheel caught on an unmarked metal plate on the road while I was going at 25km/hour. For 5 minutes I was literally gasping for breath; I couldn't speak at all. Fortunately, a group of a dozen people came to help me, offering all kinds of assistance. I was able to go back on my own and get first aid.Thankfully, I escaped with a broken rib and toe and some other minor injuries.
Recovering from a broken rib has been challenging. For those who've had a similar experience, you'll understand the complexity it adds to even the simplest tasks. I soon discovered that my rib is connected to my arm in ways I never realized ;) making it painful to lift, pour, stir, and sand my pieces. I did try to resume work a couple of weeks post-accident but found it exacerbated my pain.
However, the good news is that I've been feeling much better for the past two weeks. Except for an occasional sneeze that brings back some discomfort, I'm back to my regular physical activities. I'm in good shape both physically and mentally, and have returned to casting plaster, sanding, and finishing.
I've even discovered a new type of epoxy putty that's far more convenient than what I was using before, allowing for extremely fine finishes. The only downside is its cost, but its efficacy makes it well worth it. I now wonder how I ever managed without it. It's the little things like this that brighten my day ;)
I'm doing as fast as possible to finish Sand Bats, Bloated women and boxes for Christmas Holidays-That would be a nice gift for everybody.
Best wishes and talk to you soon!

Hey there,
I look up for a few minutes to share some updates on our beloved "The Masks of Nyarlathotep, Australia and Shanghai Project".
First off, everything's rolling along smoothly. My schedule is perfectly going well with my rhythm at the magnificent Montreuil city museum. (Montreuil isn't Paris, but it's got its own charm - it's a big village glued to the City of Lights, and it's where I've set up camp twenty years ago.)
On the practical side of things, I'm wrestling with space constraints in my studio, so it make sense to wrap up the sculptures first. As I said previously, the Chinese boxes painting we'll come later, probably in September (with the money jar). It will need a week to paint them all.
I've got some polyurethane plaster from my favorite supplier, it's help me wrap up the prints, polishing every edge, every corner, to the point of perfection. I'm telling you, it's a labor of love, and it takes patience - loads of it. But the finish line's not far, and I'm itching to close this gypso-chapter and move on to the fun part - the patinas!
I'm gonna take a quick trip back to China to finish those Bloated women. Well, not literally - I'll be re-visiting the Guimet Museum here in Paris. Remember those Chinese glazed terracotta figures, the ones that spurred that Bloated woman sculpture : the Sancai tomb figures from the 7th and 8th century, made popular during the reign of Empress Wu; I can almost see her, leading a secret cult, a vision that inspired my "china" creation.
So, that's it for now. But don't worry, I'll be back in September with more updates and a schedule for the end of the road. (About the Clubs -a few one remains to cast and paint- And I need to check if a last layer of varnish on the Wilcox bas relief is necessary to add.)
Till then, have an amazing summer. Remember to enjoy the sun and a good book if you have the chance to go on vacation.
Catch you later,
Delphes

Dear backers,
As promised, I let you know about Le portrait du Louvre s'sale.
My friend Christian Lehmann who creates the character with Richard Watts says "Delphes’s portrait captures him perfectly: evil, devoid of any empathy, cruel, and immensely powerful. Our beautiful, beautiful son..
.."You still don’t understand what you’re dealing with, do you? » asks Ash in Ridley Scott’s ALIEN, « A perfect organism. Its structural perfection is matched only by its hostility » This is what I see when I look upon the « Portrait du Louvre » :)
It's difficult to show a picture faithful to the original painting. This one is far from perfect but Iit's pretty close to the original.
This is in low def but I hope you will like it. If you want the real thing, good news :
THE SALE FOR "LE PORTRAIT DU LOUVRE" IS OPEN !
After all these years thinking and working on it, I'm finally ready to sell it, and I hope it will find a happy and weird home to thrive and finally live its life.
It's an oil painting on canvas, (six years in the making !). The size is 57x68,5 cm.
The price will be €7000 (US$7 542,85)
Of course, for a lot of people I understand it is be expensive and anyway, only one person can buy it. So, I decided to propose on sale a limited number of 25 art prints of the painting. The result is very close to the original...but on paper.
French legislation authorizes "Fine Art Prints" under these conditions :
-To preserve the rarity of artistic creation, that's why the number of print art is limited to 30 copies.
-The printing process on art paper must use very high quality pigment inks and be printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation must be exceptional, its quality, depth and richness of nuances exceed those of classic paper printing.
I must say that I am quite impressed by the rendering of the print proof. The colors are intense and deep, it does not look like a reproduction but rather as if the work had been painted on the paper. It's very impressive !
The art print has the same size as the original (57x68,5cm) and will be hand signed by me with a certificate of authenticity. The certificate of authenticity is the document guaranteeing that the work has been made by the artist with whom it is associated. Written in a single copy, this passport, attesting to the authorship of a creation, may be essential when selling or insuring the work. Like an identity card, the certificate of authenticity follows the works throughout their lives, from purchase to resale.
Prices :
Original Oil painting : €7000 (US$7 542,85)
1st art print/ : €550 (US$592,65)
2nd to 10th art print : €350 (US$377,14)
11th to 25 art print : €300 (US$318,56)
-PM me your email if you're interested to purchase and reserve your art print or buy the original. 25 art prints only are to be sold.. I'll edit your number when I get your digital reservation, then I will send you the payment link.
If the art print are still too expensive for you, Many people on social have already shown their interestbut you want to support me and have a version of the Portrait du Louvre, you can still get a much better digital version (two different quality files depending on the tier you chose) of the painting than the one shared here on Patreon.
By subscribing on Patreon, you can join my community and you will be able to support me and download this painting and some of my future weird artworks : https://www.patreon.com/user?u=7900290.
All the gains I make with my sales help me finish my last props. Do not hesitate to share the information with people interested in this portrait, all in all, very Lovecraftian.
All the best,
Delphes
A perfect season

Hi there,
I've spent January and February in finding solutions to survive financially the crisis that has been on my tracks since 2022. I have launched different projects and some have proved fertile. I had the answer this week : from June I will develop pictorial creation workshops in partnership with the city museum thanks to original devices that I developed. It is a very demanding and dusty little museum in which we could organize a very nice murder party or, even better a three days run !
(It's actually my real motivation to have taken this job)
This museum deals with the history of social movements, colonization and decolonization, as well as the suburbs and industrial heritage of my city, Montreuil- Paris' Brooklyn as they say-. The museum's field has since expanded, in particular through temporary exhibitions and I think, despite my joke, that I will be in charge there of organizing an art show one day or another.
I will earn enough money with this project which will allow me to finalize your props and surveys with peace of mind. Because how would I finish my beautiful objects if I'm on the street or if I have an empty stomach, don't I? Notice, I will be able to make an artistic performance and be thrown a few pieces but it seems a little complicated to do anyway..
Thank you to all those who put cash in the money jar to help me buy the Chinese boxes. It will allow me to place an order soon and paint the decor. For practical reasons, I would ideally like to finish the sculptures before making the boxes. I've made good progress on the plaster prints but it's not over yet. To do this, I have to go and buy polyurethane plaster and epoxy paste from my favorite supplier because I have reached the end of my stocks. I will have time this spring, especially if I sell some art prints from my last creation or even better if I sell the original.
With a lot of emotions, I can finally share a first peak at my painting "Portrait du Louvre". I've been working on this for 6 years since the "sanguine" I made as a licensed prop for "Horror on the Orient express" Chaosium Inc. It can be use as a prop but I hope it can be a work in itself that someone can love without knowing the context..It's difficult to show a picture faithful to the original painting. This one is far from perfect but I like the feeling.
I will be happy to read your comments to find out what you think about this painting.
You have a beautiful sunday,
Delphes

Best wishes to all of you !
May 2023 bring you many happiness !..as me when I'm painting my sculptures.
It feels so good to lose myself when I'm searching for the best colors of weirdness..
I've looked for the Bloated women boxes and I found a supplier in Poland that sells the box for €22. It's 7 euros more than what was calculated at the start at the french store .. and it does not include shipping costs. (I think I'll get away with it for about 100€ more)
If those who had offered to extend some cash to purchase the boxes can still do it, that would be indeed very helpful ! You can send what you can to my Paypal account with the mail [email protected]
See the box bellow :
Now, I'm focusing on earning some substantial money. But I continue to cast and paint your props at the same time.
I love it.
The monstrous is so beautiful, because it reveals the masks.
