Hurray! We have just hit the 10k graciously with a new backer ! Welcome!
I'm deeply sorry because I announced in my last update that I will make the Cthulhu from the desert but I got confused after I read Nevil Kingston Brown extra material for the Australian chapter ; we decided before that I would make the Australian version of Nyarlathotep, like the perverted Idol for Kenya. It seems a good challenge for me.
I announced it will be 20 cm by the way. But it will definitely be higher!. The Randolph Shipping Company original is supposed to be around 90cm… ;)
Description in the book is as follows :
p464: "Looking down, everyone sees that the weak, softwood crate has splintered, revealing the contents: a grotesque wooden idol about three feet high, seemingly of Aboriginal Australian manufacture, and covered with white-painted, geometric lines. The foul idol is humanoid, without hair, and with strange, round, thick whiskers like tentacles. The creature’s hands and feet end in flipper-like appendages. The eyes are round, with jagged facets, and have a cruel expression "
You can already add €85 to your actual pledge and you will be able to chose it as an add-on on your backerkit survey.
As our Australian colleagues told me there is lot of sensitivity in Australia about non-Aboriginal artists producing material that looks Aboriginal which is totally normal. Therefore I won't use Aboriginal material as inspiration even since the statue in Masks of Nyarlathotep is supposed to be an Aboriginal product, but I'll make my interpretation of a Nyarlathotep from the Australian waste land.
I should as well mention that it is not an Indigenous product.
I’ve sold some aboriginal artworks here in Paris so I’ve been sensitized to this cultural and political matters.
Now, I’m doing the drawing. I should post it tomorrow.
Thank you all for your efforts to get this important stretch goal.

You are marvelous !
